DePuy Synthes (J&J)

DePuy Synthes is the orthopaedics and neuro franchise of Johnson & Johnson MedTech and one of the largest orthopaedic device makers in the world. It traces its roots to 1895, when Revra DePuy began making fiber splints, making DePuy the first commercial orthopaedics company. The modern entity was formed in 2012 when J&J acquired Switzerland's Synthes for $19.7 billion and combined it with its existing DePuy franchise. Its West Chester campus anchors a portfolio spanning joint reconstruction, trauma, spine, sports medicine, and craniomaxillofacial surgery, and is a cornerstone of Chester County's medical-device cluster.
